Alan Shearer believes they are already ‘question marks’ hanging over Ralf Rangnick after slamming the Manchester United squad for their ‘bad attitudes’.

United laboured to a 1-1 draw at Newcastle United on Monday where their performances were widely criticised.

Former United defender Gary Neville described the United players as ‘whingers’, singling out Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo as the worst offenders on a woeful night for the club at St James’ Park.

United remain undefeated under their interim boss and host Burnley at Old Trafford on Thursday as they seek to close the gap on the top four.

While he believes Rangnick has a huge job on his hands, Premier League legend Shearer has laid the blame solely at the feet of the players, accusing them of getting Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sacked through their lack of effort.

‘Man United were dreadful, they were really poor,’ Shearer told Amazon Prime.

‘There was a lot of bad attitudes in the game. It didn’t look to me like a happy camp. He tried to change it at half-time and they got the goal, but their performance didn’t really improve.

‘I think this is a huge game for United because already the question marks are there for the manager. They’ve already got one manager sacked.

‘Those players have to go out and prove they want to stay and want to be part of that incredible football club.

‘They’ve got a lot of individuals at United, I don’t quite see a team yet.’
