INEC Releases Ultimate Checklist of Candidates For Ekiti Governorship Election

The ultimate checklist of candidates for Ekiti governorship election slated for June 18 has been launched.

The announcement was made by the Impartial Nationwide Electoral Fee (INEC).

This was sequel to the publication of the private particulars of the candidates final month.

The Fee stated it was in compliance with the Electoral Act following the shut of nominations by political events.

In line with a press release by INEC Nationwide Commissioner and Chairman Info and Voter Training Committee Festus Okoye, Abiodun Abayomi Oyebanji was cleared because the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) with Afuye Monisade as his working mate whereas Olabisi Kolawole bought the Fee’s nod as Folks’s Democratic Occasion (PDP) candidate with Kolapo Olugbenga Kolade as his Deputy.

It added: “Moreover , the eye of events is drawn to Part 32(3) of the Electoral Act 2022, which supplies that failure to inform the Fee “shall not be floor to invalidate the election”.

“The ultimate checklist is printed in our State and Native Authorities workplaces in Ekiti State in addition to our web site and social media platforms for public info as required by legislation.
