Leeds United insist they’ve had no contact from Bayern Munich over a move for Raphinha and they instead want to extend the midfielder’s deal at Elland Road.

Reports in Brazil in the last week claimed the Brazil international was on the verge of joining the Bundesliga giants for a fee of around £40m.

However, Leeds deny they’ve had any contact from Bayern and they’re desperate to keep former Rennes man.

The Athletic claim Marcelo Bielsa’s side are actually in contract negotiations with the Brazilian and have no intention of selling him next month.

Raphinha’s current deal runs until 2024 but his stock has risen significantly during his 18 months in Yorkshire and the club feel he is deserving of a pay increase.

The 25-year-old is said to have been ‘receptive’ to the club’s early advances and has indicated that he’s happy to sign an extension, as he enjoys playing in the Premier League.

However, Bielsa’s side are just five points above the relegation zone and the midfielder may wait until the end of the season before deciding on his future.
