Google has chosen 60 African startups for the second cohort of the Google for Startups Black Founders Fund (BFF).

Nigerian startups dominated the listing, comprising 23 of the 60 chosen from throughout Africa. Kenya is available in second with 12 startups, adopted by Rwanda with six. 5 of the chosen startups are from South Africa, 4 from Uganda, and three from Ghana, and Cameroon. Ethiopia had two startups on the listing, whereas Senegal and Botswana every had one.

Startups in fintech, well being tech, and logistics led the listing by sector.

In 2021, Google invested $3 million in 50 Black-led African startups by the fund. “In 2022, we’re taking our assist a notch greater by investing $4 million into 60 Black-led startups. Since 2021, our startups have gone on to boost $87 million in follow-on funding and have employed 500+ extra employees,” Google acknowledged.

Among the chosen startups from different African nations are Healthlane, Ajua, Bee, Mapha, Eversend, Kapsule, Garri Logistics, FlexPay, Exuus, KUDIGO, Hold IT Cool, Brastorne, and Constructed.
